taking on water

My buddy' s Larson is taking on water. It has an Alpha one drive. Trim all the way up, water gushes in. Trim in any other position, no water. This is beyond my knowledge so if any one can tell me the likely cause before we drag it to the marina...TIA

One of the 3 bellows is either cracked or coming off the clamp.

Definetly the bellows. Most likely the drive shaft bellow. Not a bad job to do yourself.

Definatly the drive shaft bellows - also check the gimbal bearing for damage.

That was a easy one. Got any more questions :D .

Not always the drive shaft bellows. I had an Alpha that also leaked when trimmed up and not when down. It was the shifter bellows. But still a bellow.

I'm with US1. Shifter may not cause a gush, but it sure can cause a "filling up fast"!

Thanks for all the responses.Talked to Scott last night. He Does get a little water with trim down. I forgot this yesterday, the motor was pulled 3 times last season. I'm assuming this will point to the drive-shaft bellows? Each time he pulled the motor, he left the drive installed - if that matters. Hope to get him finished so I can finish mine :D
