Hull Cleaner?
 

I am having a hard time getting the yellowish brown waterline stains off of my white hull. I bought this stuff called ON & OFF from West Marine, its pretty potent chit. so far it has managed to eat the skin off of my arm, the bottom out of an aluminum pan, and the paint off of my new trailer, but it still dosent remove the stains from my boat. Can anybody recomend a better way to get theese dam stains off?

SeaBowld hull cleaner works pretty good, and it is not near as harsh as On&Off..

Believe it or not.... SNO BOWL TOILET BOWL CLEANER OR ANY HEAVY DUTY ACID BASE TOILET BOWL CLEANER .. CLEANS PROPS AND EXAUST TIPS TOO!!!!:rolleyes: :cool: ;) :eek:

Chit man - On/Off didn't get it out? Damn.

Once you get it off, you can try FSR (fiberglass stain remover) for lighter duty cleaning of the hull - sold at many marine centers. It comes in a gel, has (I believe) the same active ingredient as On/Off, but at a much lower concentration - the only time I can "feel" it is if it get on an open cut. Never need to wear gloves with this stuff, and a little goes a long way. .02

oh, and a couple coats of Liquid Glass on the hull really seems to reduce the need to clean that tannic acid (tea cup) stain. Just my preference for a wax. Being in the Ches Bay, we are very prone to the brown stains (on our hulls).

Also try some liquid bleach or Westleys Bleach White whitewall tire cleaner.

I have a product that works better than ANYTHING including On/Off. It's a red, jell like fluid that was formulated to clean scum lines off pool sides (fiberglass and tile) without screwing up the chemical balance of the pool. I swear by the stuff because you literally just wipe it on (NO SCRUBBING) and wait 3-5 minutes and spray it off (Oh yeah, you don't need to use rubber gloves and a face shield either). I'll guarantee no scrubbing and that it will take off any scum line, yellowing, rust stains, etc. and is safe for the environment. Oh yeah, it does not take off the wax so that you'll be reapeating the excercise after the next time you're in the water like you have to do with On/Off.

1 large bottle (32 oz.) will last 3 full hull cleanings plus touch ups for a 34 foot boat. Cost $24.95 plus S&H.

Starbright Hull Cleaner works great. It is acidic. All you do is wipe or spray it on and in seconds the yellow stains disapear. I found it a West Marine.

I leave my boat in the water for weeks on end and I've never had a problem getting it snow white with On/Off. You must have some serious azz stains on that thing for On/Off not to take care of it...
