Remote oil filter
I'd like to move the oil filter off of the engine altogether if I can (how far can you go?). If possible, I'd also like the filter to screw UP against the cast piece instead of screwing DOWN onto it. Seems like it would make it alot less messy at oil change time. This is for a 383 small block application. Am I stuck with the Mercury setup?

Just takes more oil. I probably wouldnt reccomend putting it miles away. |

i Think you can put it wherever you want. Mine is on a home made bracket with ss lines. No oem merc setup for me!:drink:

I used this kit and mounted it on the transom wall where I could easily access it. Comes with 8' total of hose, you could add more if going further- just remember it increases your oil capacity so be sure to add more when changing the oil.

leave it upside down, it helps filtering....+ no mess if done right. just punch a hole in the top and let it sit over night ...not 1 drop will be left in it for the change next day !
