7.4 no spark
I had my formula out the other day going along at 50 running fine then it just quit, wouldnt start up again. Found I had no spark, Got it traced down to the sensor in the distributor or the ignition amplifier. Does anyone know how to test the sensor, it is a 88 7.4 330hp with thunderbolt ignition? I pulled it out and it is very corroded. Any info greatly appreciated.

If it is in such bad shape. Why not just replace it??? Corrosion isn't good for it either.

Just as a side note, do not clean the sensor if it is presently working. A friend of mine who runs a Merc repair shop has had many customers come in with a no spark condtion after replacing a cap and rotor. Seems that while changing cap and rotor they notice the sensor being corroded and clean it. Often times this kills them.
