K-Plane Pin!!! Stuck!!

Taking my K-Plane Plates off. One came off easy. The long pin on the other plate won't move a bit.. Need Ideas on getting it out! Thanks Scott

If your serious try a heat gun first hot but not cooking the paint like a torch. Next a simple torch propane no map gas. Heat it up and drive a pin through make sure no one put an e clip in the hinge. It will barely be noticeable if they did. Next take the whole unit of and press it out with a ten ton press. Done a few but it is usually the eclip. |
Best thing you can do it to take them cut the pin between each area on the tab that you can get to. Then you can remove the smaller pieces a lot easier.

I doubt you'll be able to take the transom plate off the boat, if they're anything like mine were. I beat mine through with a hammer and punch. Took a bit to get it moving.

+1 with a slide hammer,,hose it down first with pb blaster and they come rite out..

Had to cut the pin and beat the pieces out. after days of screwing around with it.. Glad thats over...

Well sorry I am late then. OTC ball joint/u-joint tool work great to press it out. You can also find the cheap ones at Harbor Freight. Just use the C clamp, it has an open end so the pin goes right through.
