Remote Reservoir On Hydraulic Steering
I am installing a dual ram on a single Bravo and was wondering if it is required or just a good idea to run a remote reservoir on the ps pump? The pump is mounted just in front of the cylinder head so it is fairly high. I know certain companys say it's not required and some do. Don't have tons of space to mount one due to the engine hatch but could come up with something if I have to. Any thoughts? Thanks

My previous boat had a single ram full system and NO reservoir. Never had any issues.
I have ITS on my current boat and no reservoir. |
Thanks for the reply. Does anyone else have any input? If I was to run a reservoir, is it better to have one the fills from the bottom from the original cap or dump in the side/top and draw from the bottom?

You don't need it. Once the ram(s) are bleed the fluid volume will not increase any more than it did stock from heat.

Same here dual ram and no reservoir with no problems 6+ years

Well I guess I will try and run one without and worst case i will have to add one later. Thanks.
