Oil cooler sizes

I recently upgraded from a Gen VI 454 Mag to a Gen VI 502 with close to 500 HP. Is the oil cooler on a 502 Mag bigger than the cooler on a 454 Mag? I know the HP 500 has a larger one. My oil temp is a little higher than what I want. Running 4000 RPM for extended periods of time I run a little over 250 degrees. I do not want to install a huge cooler as I know you need the oil temp to run about 220-230 at cruising to boil off the condensation. My current cooler mounts vertically on the front of the engine and is about 12-14 inches long. My power steering cooler is separate.

Voodoo,
Go big and use a T-Stat to prevent overcooling. With a T-Stat your temps will be stable at WOT or idle. Do a search on oil cooler or perma-cool.

This is my oil cooler/t-stat setup. It works very well on my 509 inch carb motor. The cooler is 18"x3" from Eddie marine and the stat is Perma-cool.
