Yes this is correct. I could not find the proper size freeze type plug so
I had my mechanic tap it. Use a filter with built in by-pass and
anti-siphon valves to address the "oil starvation issue". I use a
Baldwin B279.

I would not be able to plug or replace the bypass in the boat. It woul dbe impossible.
