Holley Carb choice ?
I am currently running a 355 SB with a set of vortec heads alum intake and roller cam. What is the benefit of running a 600cfm dual feed compared to a single feed Holley?
I am currently running a Weber four barrel. Thanks |
In my opinion....600cfm isnt enough for that motor sir. :drink:

Please explain why?
Could you please explain why you think so. For the total cubic inches I would think it would be fine. it is not a striker.
Thanks |
I'm sorry a stroker.

I think that boats generally need more carb than automotive motors (they require more fuel because they work harder). I also think your 600 cfm on that motor in a car would be on the edge. For a street app...I'd rather see at least a 650 cfm...so, with my thinking, your motor, with vortec heads, an aluminum intake and a roller cam in a boat would require AT LEAST a 650 fm carb. If you could find a 700 cfm...I bet it would run better in your boat.
I maybe off in my thinking....just my opinion. :drink: |

Correction EZSTRIPER
The Weber came as factory as follows:
7.4 came with 750 5.7/5.0/4.3's came with 600's. Anyone have advice on my original question about the benefits of a dual feed compared to single? Thanks You all have a good summer |
Here is a post from a few weeks ago.
Use the link posted to calculate the amout of CFM you need. 600 CFM is perfect for that engine unless you plan on spinning in 6,000 + RPMS. http://www.offshoreonly.com/forums/g...onn-489-a.html |
