Are you guys sick of my questions yet ? lol.

I bought 2 MSD soft touch rev limiters, and am having trouble figuring out where the wires go. :(
The part number is 8728...and my biggest issue is what type of ignition system I have. I think I have a standard thunderbolt setup (I have the wide wire plug on the outside of the distributor...its bolted to the dist.). There are 5 wires coming from the MSD unit. The black is obviously ground. I think the red goes to the positive side of the coil. And I think the green goes to the negative side of the coil. I'm struggling with where the white goes...and I'm not sure if I need the violet. Does the white go on the neg side also ? I'm just not sure what type of ignition I have. Sorry if this is a dumb question. :picard1:

I would say red goes to +12V. Black and white go to ground. Green goes to coil negative. Voilet goes to distributor pick-up positive. Look on the distributor at the module, wires usually are white/red and white/green. The distributor may have the plus minus orientation on the terminals.

Go to MSD's site. You should be able to download the diagrams.

Thanks...but thats what the PDF file is above (the link). I was hoping someone would decipher it for me a little better, seeing as I'm not positive what ignition I have. :drink:

c'mon guys...wheres the electrical guru's ?

Do you have white/red and white/green wires running to the distributor. You likely have Thunderbolt ignition, you can match the magnetic pick-up wiring schematic. The distributor may have a plus and minus marking by the terminals.

Save yourself a lot of grief and take it to somebody that knows what they are doing.
