Leaping carb stumble (?)

I have a carbed 502 mag. I recently experienced a stumble at 1/2 to probably 3/4 throttle (constant) when hitting a series of wakes. Engine simply sounds like it is cut off for a second and then instantly comes back. Checked the coil, distributor, plug wires- nothing loose. Could it be a carb or fuel pump problem? I run 91 octane fuel and load the tank with fuel system treatment each fill. Any thoughts? Anyone? Buehler?http://www.offshoreonly.com/forum/im...ilies/wink.gif

Thanks

If you jump the boat out of the water, you can float the fuel in the carb bowl and the engine will momentarily cut out. If you fly long enough it will die completely. This is usually followed by a trip to the head!

Of course it could be a loose wire. If you idle the motor and pull on all the wires you might find it. Don't pull on the spark plug wires, well you know.

Check you float level

Yeah, float level.
Check the fuel pump for proper pressure and volume.
When was the last time you changed the filters?
Don't forget to check the filter(s) in the carb besides the fuel/water separator.
