Truthfully...I've had both scenarios..lol. I've had them get "weak"...I've had them quit all at once...and I've had them die after getting "heat soaked" (as soon as it cooled off, it would fire right back up). I just like knowing how old my stuff is, and when it was changed last.
Yours is prolly just fuel related. I hope it runs better for you tomorrow. :drink: |
Gotcha, I'll change out the coil as well as it's cheap insurance anyways. Thank you for your time Tinman and I'll let you know how things go!

My old 454 did this at one time. Turned out to be a defective spark plug (ACMR44T) that would intermittently fire up inside because of a cracked insulator. Your problem sounds ignition related also.

It wouldn't hurt to look at your check valve where the fuel line goes to the tank the spring loaded ball in there can get cloged with junk, I had fuel pressure issues and that was what it turned out to be on my boat.

Put the stock flame arrestor back on and everything is back to normal. Thanks again for your help Tinman! |
