what should i tap into
I have a garmin hard wire cord on its way what should i tap into. I was thinking cigarette lighter

I always like to run a seperate circuit for everything. Not big into tapping off of other power sources escpecially for electronics. You have a fuse block you can come off of ? Not saying it cannot be done its just what I prefer.

Look under the dash. My Fountains have both had a fuse panel underneath

i took a quick peak and didnt notice one Ill have to look harder. How do you tap into a fuse block, and im assuming there should be an empty fuse or an acc one.

I just installed a gramin 441 in my Checkmate and ran it to the fuse block. It was located right behind the dash. Garmin says to use a 5 amp fuse.

there is one fuse block underneath on the back wall. Its only like 4 fuses and tube design, one empty place, dont know if thats going to be a good idea

It's not the fact that the Garmin has an inline fuse that you should believe it's ok. It's the size of the wire that you are tapping into. It already has a load on it. That said, the Garmin has a low draw and more than likely no problem.
