what changes did you make, what intake ? are you running just on the hose or have you put in the water ?

Impeller new & pumps like a son of a gun. Holes in stat. Stat changed to new stat with holes. I think exhaust water is even. I will check more closley next time run. Perhaps it isn't?? So this not over 130 or so when water is cold is common with the crossover?

i really wouldnt worry about it. if your water isnt boiling in the pipes when your come off plane after a hard run then your never going to have a problem. watch your water temp gauge and if it starts to get up around 200 then start to worry if it never gets up there dont sweat it. i am running 540's with the same set-up and never see water temps above 150.....

You should have at least 3 holes drill in the stat, if your still running warm, you can go bigger than 1/8 inch holes. Sometimes the stats from the factory come with one or 2 holes predrilled, if so,.....drill more.

This might help.... Look closely at the pic and youll see the hole drilled. Spread the holes(3) out evenly around the stat.......

I can tell you if you are going by what what its doing on the hose it wont be accurate. Thoes things pump more water than the hose can put out.

Don't overthink things, you may have nothing wrong. Sounds like you have done everything OK. I have the same crossover setup, with a 160 deg thermostat. My temp gage runs a little over 150 when on plane. If you see a little warmer temp at idle that seems to be normal, mine runs about 160-170. Take it on the water and run it, let us know what you find out.

Ran it last night on the river and as on the hose it runs cold! Very cold! Even colder than on the hose! 100-110 degree cold on the stat and one head. 130 on the starbourd head. At Idle all is at 100 or less. That is way to cold to run the engine. I have given up and am ordering a new pump and pulley today and going back stock. I want to boat not be under the hatch. Want a new crossover cheap!

That's not too cold man. That was at night when temps are down. YOu sure as hell won't break anything running cold(;
