Weird stain on Vinyl HELP?
I have done some searching and there is alot of differnt suggestions so I figured i would post what happend, and what all O have tried.
Mardi-gras beeds, from a Billy Bowlegs. once wet beads where on sunpad....they left stains. Pink spots on white vinyl. Tried: Spray Nine Magic eraser some vinyl cleaner a scrub brush. and all the combonations of what i had. SO what shoud I use? what if i use a small thing of bleach for each spot? and wash any ideas? I dont want pink poka dots on my sun pad. |
Leave it alone after all you have done. The sun will take care of it. My dad made my seats pink once with a set of new red trunks and it bleached out after a few outings.
|
I had the same result from wet beads on my back seat. i tried everything to get it out....nothing worked. eventually the sun took it out after a couple weekends.

I had a similar situation and the magic erasers finally did the job but I had to work on it for quite awhile. Follow up with vinyl conditioner.
|
Pm sent, and I will try a little mroe cleaning now that i am back from the salt water, and see if the sun does indead help.
I hope so, makes me sick to think my sunpad will have pink pokadots...... |
Trust me, it will fade out. Be patient. No need to destroy the vinyl's top coat.
|
I had a pink stain on my back seat side from a girls new bikini bottoms. It never bleached out from the sun, just kinda faded.
|
I think shaving cream is supposed to speed the whitening process in the sun...maybe someone can add to the validity of the claim.
|
You might want to try rubbing alcohol.
|
I used Bleche White a couple weeks ago on my shaggy vinyl.
I've heard it will eat the threads so I kept it away from the seams, but I wasn't too concerned because I hope to get it redone soon. But as a stop-gap, it worked pretty good and made the white look pretty good compared to how it was. |
spray strait bleach on it...let sit 1 min mist with water, then scrub with brush, rinse well..repeat if needed...
|
I had ink stains on my front seat (ask my daughter how it happened), and they faded out after a few days in the sun. It was permanent ink too.

leaving the top off the boat and it is looking al ittle better. VVery supprised
I tried rubing alcohol the first day. |
i would say rubbing alochol or goo gone. Also they have a LIFT OFF at Home Depot its safe for cars, clothes, etc. Try that stuff. I used it on a few things now and works good, wipe it on and let it sit for 60sec then wipe it off.

Call Tim at Bio Kleen. He is a chemist and his vinyl cleaner works without destroying your expensive interior. |
Do not use any brushes, they are too abrasive. Use contact cement cleaner and rub with a cloth. Rinse with soap and water. Should do the trick unless some of the other chemicals have made the stain set in.
|
Well after a few days with out a cover, the sun took care of the stuff. then cleaned the rest to make it all match and then put some protectant back on it.
|
If you have tried all the above, try using mineral spirits. Will put oil back in the vinyl. It will also clean as well. May have to use a little elbow grease to get it to work. Be careful using SPRAY NINE cause it will dry the vinyl out and cause it to crack and using bleack will make the vinyl hard. Good Luck..

If it's the pink mold that people say you can't get rid of. Well I did! I used the stuff from pink-away.com
Worked! Saved me having to replace the vinyl. Expensive stuff, but a lot cheaper than reupholstering. The site says it's a bacteria, not a mold.
