lighting headers good or bad?

i heard two people now tell me that lighting headers will crack. that they seen countless motors destroyed because of there cracks and design. they seem reasonably priced. what do you think.

i would like to order a pair of dry headers for my boat this winter and was trying to get opinions

i've been back and forth on lightning and dana myself, had the dana's and was wanting to try the lightnings for the true header look, curious to hear thoughts as well

Lightning headers

I have had them on 2 boats now, a 1997 Prototype (also known as a Joker, and a 1986 Cigarette Cafe). They have been good headers for me as well. The only problem I have had is that the impellar went out and got the header a little hot and took the paint off the header. Otherwise a great product.

My buddy BadDog has been running them on his boat for close to 10 years with no problems. He pressure tested them last year because he had a valve seize in the guide, and they checked out fine. I bought a used set from Opie272 that I will be running shortly.

They sure make spark plug changing a breeze compared to the Gil manifolds!

Less damage than CMI headers!
