Bazooka Mounts
Hey you audiofiles,
I have a 10" Bazooka tube I want to mount in my engine compartment. The straps are pretty cheesy. Is there anything on the market that is decent for a strong mount? Thanx |
what about stainless steel strap material and hose clamps? I assume you will be mounting it under a seat or onto the seat base.
|
Go to LOWE'S...get 4-6" stainless band clamps (plumbing dept) & connect two clamps togeter to make one 12-14" long. Buy a four strap brackets from WEST Marine, Boaters World or where ever. Mount the two strap brackets about 3" apart on each end of Bazooka and thread the clamps thru the brackets, place the speaker & your done!! Have fun!:D

Shooter,
I installed two in my engine compartment last year using the straps supplied and have had no problems at all. |
how is the sound with these in the engine compartment. I am planning to purchase one/two subs and don't want to cut into the rear seat kick panel. was thinking of installing in the gunwhales......?
|
I put mine under the rear bench, and slid it up to the gunwale it works fine. I also got the remote and mounted it in my dash. Bazooka makes metal clamps for them. They are worth the $29.00 http://www.crutchfield.com/cgi-bin/S...04UMS10A&o=&a=

Just ordered the clamps from Crutchfield. Thanx alot. I want to have it before the NYC Poker Run.
|
they sound ok but not great, its a compromise you have to make if you dont want to hack up your boat! I also have a 12 sub in a sealed box where the port a potti was so the bazookas provide a little extra oomph.
