what intake you guys running on big blocks
Thinking about doing an intake/cam and carb in my 502. Just curious to see what some of you are running for intakes

I have a Merlin 4150 brass water passage intake for sale...150.00

On a 502 the edelbrock dual Plane air gap is pretty unbeatable. Also the dart style hvh is dam good.

airgap on mine 580hp @ 610ftlbs Trq at 5400 rpm

Depends on what boat your putting it in sir. Edelbrock RPM Air Gap for more torque (but they work well in almost all setups)...and a single plane will show a little higher rpm hp. I personally would put an Air Gap in a single engine heavier boat. :drink:

The first thing you always need to address before making any engine changes it the Exhaust. You can make all the changes you want, if the exhaust is still holding you back, no will not notice the changes. Do some research, most of us have been there done that. I look back at some of the things I have done and wish I would have saved the money for beer. Enjoy what you have and save the money for GAS. I like most people run dual plane manifolds like the RPM AIR GAP mentioned above. Good low end and will be great for the amount of RPMS you will spin. |

You most likely will not see a large gain if thats what you are after. Remember it takes at least 15hp increse to see 1mph.

If it runs fine, leave it alone, unless you plan on moving on to big power.
I have a single plane Brodix on my 540. The idle isn't much fun, but it's got a big nasty cam on it. |
