Ignition Help

I know Crane Cams went out of business then were bought out or whatever.

I am looking for the Crane 6000-6462 HI-6M ignition and I'm not sure if it is made anymore. Does anyone have any recommendations for a comparable MSD ignition if this isn't made anymore? We are thinking my ignition is bad and/or my coil isn't hot enough for my new motor. Plugs are getting fouled badly (yet not running rich out of the back) and the timing light flickers inconsistently which leads me to believe that it is missing ignitions.

An accompanying coil for the ignition is required as well!

Thanks!

MSD Digital 6 Plus, part #6520. Great unit with many nice features, similar to the Crane box. Use it with a #8223 Blaster 3 coil.

Some timing lights don't work well with multi spark ignitions especially when setting timing at idle.

True that digital lights don't like MSD systems. Any analog light with a dial usually works fine though.

It's the factory mercury ignition and coil and it was flickering oddly at 3k when setting timing

Also has anyone had any issues with moisture on a non marine box?

No but I did have an electronic componet break off the circuit board on a non marine one I had in my boat. Left me stranded. If that's what your thinking of doing I wouldn't recommend it. The marine boxes are completely filled with an epoxy so nothing can move.

Daytona sensors picked up the crane ignition line and has done a great job with the old HI6M including digital programming laptop hookup, data gathering/recording, MAP sensor input for blower motors, rev limiter.

I bought one and used it on the dyno. Great box.

Much better than
