WE just sold a block with the same stamping. It was a 2 bolt 454.

I just posted the data from mortec, some were 2 and some were 4. Why they did that is beyond me.......:angry-smiley-038:

I never understood that one either. The first time I pulled a pan off one marked High per pass, and seen a 2 bolt, I was dumbfounded. One would think High performance would at least include a 4 bolt.

BTW... what would it cost to have a set of splayed steel caps installed on a 2 bolt block.
I do believe that the high per pass blocks do at least have the high nickle content.

The blocks are all basically the same so they have the same casting number. They just machined some for 2 bolt and some for 4 bolt. No different than all of the GM Small Blocks for 50 years.
