What do you guys use on holes below the waterline?

What do you guys use on all holes below the waterline such as trim tabs etc, 5200? Or will just the normal sealent work? Thanks

3m fast cure 5200

generally 3M 4200. if you ever need to remove it and used 5200 there is a chance you are going to take the gelcoat and some of the fiberglass off with the part. I had an outboard once that had 5200 all over it when it was installed. to remove it we had all the bolts out and had to jump up and down on it till it pealed off a lot of the transom.

For a prement fix you can use Marine Tex

Sorry, reread post thought you talking about repairing the holes after you removed them. Not sealing around mounting screws, bolts, ect.
4200 works great.

Sounds from what you guys are saying that 4200 would be the best choice in case it ever needs to get taken out for some reason. The concern was more to prevent water from actually getting in through any of the holes where the bolts are or even where the trim tabs are going to go. So I'm guessing 3m 4200 would prevent any water from coming in?

marine silicone !
no 42-or 5200 , a good marine silicone !

Life Seal would work too. I've been using this a lot more lately, or 4200 works fine also.

If you are just sealing holes you don't really need an adhesive sealer, 3M makes something else besides 5200 and 4200 but I can't think of what it is right now, it's usually hanging next to the above at the store...
