Just wondering if they were burnt and if the water holes lined up between manifold and riser.

The risers have "jumper" hoses for a dry joint. The gaskets looked a little compressed and a little warmed up if that's a way to describe them. They were still compressable and weren't burnt on the edge where the exhaust gas passes. Thanks for following and quizzing me as to what to look for.

Got the stainless exhaust tubing working. Water pressure was 22-25 psi while running so I'm good. Water temps ranged from 110 at idle to 180 while under way. Oil temp was 180-190. I had what I hope is a fluke when the oil temp spiked to 350*rapidly and sounded the alarm. Turned engine off immediately and then turned the key back on and it climbed from zero to only 190*. Do new senders cost much?

New senders are cheap. Probably under $50 depending on your gauge MFG.

How did your pressure go from 40psi with bad impellors, to 22-25 with new impellors?

Uhhhhhhhhh, little embarrassed, I got excited when every thing went hay wire, I read the oil pressure gauge instead of water pressure. I was overwhelmed with gauges.

pitts1313,
If you really want to keep an eye on what is going on with your water flow, as pressure can easily be inaccurate as a kinked hose or restricted heat ex-changer would give you a false understanding of what is happening. Check out this NEW product Livorsi is offering!!

I need this....I can't count how many sea pumps I've went thru due to sea strainer getting plugged and reducing flow and not knowing till alarm goes off and pump is ruined. I also attribute my issues with my IMCO lower unit with only a low water pickup sucking up sand alot.
