Default Engine mounted off center. Pros, cons

I have a light weight narrow 28 feet 24 V twin step boat with one Verado 350CSI and Bravo1 prop.
Over 70mph I get some chine walking of course, but the leaning to port side is the thing that I hope to do something about.
I have trim tabs that cure it .
I just want to hear if anybody has any experience with moving the engine to the side to help the leaning.
I still have to use tabs at different speed, but does it help to move the engine at all?
What are pros/cons?
