For Bravo props, use 1" less pitch than what is stamped to check propslip numbers. They are light on pitch compared to what they are stamped.

27" pitch, 1.5 gear ratio, 5,500 RMP 85 MPH = Slippage of 9% |
Ran the 30 bravo. Mid range improvement 3500 60 mph. 3000 52 mph
Top. Speed 84-85 @ 5100 rpm. |
Not sure what to do with these props.
I like the midrange of the 30" And the top end of the 28 (engine sounds better as well, the 30 sounds like its lugging a bit) What can be done to (prefer to modify the 30, as the 28 is from my other boat and is perfect) What can be modified on the 30 to keep the midrange and increase the top speed RPM? I know props can be modified, but no sure what mods do what. FYI Boat is a stepped tunnel |
Call one of the prop companies, tell them what you want. A labbed 30 will turn more RPM, or they can change it to a 29.
Which one carries the boat better. |
Adjusted the manual trim tabs ( in the tunnel section). They were pushing down the front I assume
Turned the 30 cold day 91 mph @ 5200 rpm Is that optimal rpm? I have a chance to buy a food deal on a new 32. But I can't try it. Ap not sure if it'll work (300 rpm down for the pitch brings me down to 4900 in theory |
