I did the same thing as Baja Daze after my speedo hose was leaking at the back of the speedo. Two small plastic ties pulled tight.
My boat runs mid seventies and this solved the problem.

With MY GLASTRON I had to use fuel line because I kept balloning the plastic line. My scarab uses fuel line inside the boat. Use the proper size fuel line and small hose clamps. It worked for me.
