Which Rinda Scan Tool?

If investing in a scan tool for the Guardian equipped Merc engines, which is the best bang for the buck?

The Diacom software or the Merc Scan tool (both from Rinda)?

I know the Diacom requires a laptop. But, will the "all in one" Merc Scan tool cover all the bases for a do it your-selfer? Or is the Diacom package the way to go?
