Detonation From Oil Consumption

IF A MOTOR IS DETONATING AT HIGH SPEED DUE TO OIL CONSUMPTION WOULD THE PLUGS BE OIL FOULED.

Dentonation is caused by a number of things. If you have an oil problem the plugs could get fouled from the oil. I do not think the fouled plug is causing the detonation if that is what you are asking.

As you begin to consume oil it will cause carbon deposits to form on the piston tops and in the combustion chambers. This will cause detonation in 2 ways. First, the carbon will take up space and raise the physical compression ratio. This is why sometimes you will see sky high compression readings when a motor is using oil. Secondly the carbon wil form small hot spots in the combustion chamber which can lead to pre-detonation(acting as a second spark plug and firing the fuel off early).

Note that until the oil consumption gets way out of hand it may not show up as short term plug fouling.

I agree with what INSPTECH said 100%
