Yes, the flow cross. The windage tray is what came with the Dooley oil pan. I also run a Titian pro billet oil pump supposed to run cooler more volume with less pressure. It is a single engine boat. Now that is a thought about the t/stat on the cooler. What if I pull out the t/stat?

Are you sure on the boost retard?? 2 degrees for every pound of boost-2x8=-16 from 36 puts you at 20 degrees?? I am running efi and my unboosted timing goes to about 34 and down to 27 or 28 degrees at 13 psi, seems like not enough timing to me, but probably not the cause of your oil temps, Smitty

Yes I am sure it pulls the max of 15 degree. It mph best with 2 degree per 1 psi. I can adjust 1- 3 degree per 1 psi and start the retard 1 to 5 psi. I aslo run on pump gas.

If you pull the t stat out you might have to plug the bypass in the cooler. I had the same problem with my 598 motors. went to a dry sump and it fixed the problem. Whats the part # of the pan would like to see a picture of it. I had a canton pan made alot of oil temp.

I found a picture of the tray. Try your engine with the tstat pluged see if that takes care of it. Just block the by pass on the cooler. The adapter on the block is not by passing? Take the pressure line off the engine cap it and prime the motor with a drill and see if it comes out the fitting that the pressure line was hooked to. If that dont get it. i would point my finger at the oil pan.

How would I block the bypass on the cooler isn't it the long 3/8 tube on top of the cooler?

You would have to look inside where the stat is and machine something to fit or find something to fit it. you might be able to find a heavy spring and a ball or a pice of heavy rubber to seal it off.Be carful not to make a mistake.
