Converting 2006 496 MAG DTS to MAG HO
 

Hi there,

As the title says: I'd like to convert a 2006 Mercruiser MAG DTS to a MAG HO without DTS, just mechanical shifter and throttle.

Basically I just want to get rid of the DTS and use mechanical controls, but thought I could upgrade the motor to HO as long as I am on it.

I know I'd need a new cam shaft, throttle body and PCM, but what about the wiring harness? Can I use the same one?

I've come across a PCM from a 2000 496 MAG HO, but I am not sure if it will fit my harness and don't really want to spend the $ chancing, since I'd have to buy it first. Is there any way to find this out? That PCM part number is: 863619

I would appreciate all the input!

Talk to Lil Bill at Victory Marine in Texas. He has done a few of these and is pretty knowledgable in this conversion from DTS to manual throttle.

I was just looking through the PCM-partnumbers online and there seems to be quite a few of 'em. It would be nice to know what the differences are.....

raylar specializes in the 496 call them they re flash your current ecu for the HO application and they sell all the parts you would need to convert to the HO. good luck
