Are there any other choices for Mercury part # 86-865202T in the after market?

Try Standard # RY241 or NAPA # AR174 .

After some trial and error and the assistance of Hella here is what will interchange for the Mercury number:

standard # RY282T
or
HELLA # H41410051

These are standard GM relays...When I saw what a HELLA one was worth, I went to a scrapyard and pulled about 4 off different GM vehicles (S10, Cavalier etc.).
They usually let you take them for free.
