Winterizing a Volvo drive

I winterized a boat with a SBC and a Volvo drive today. Drained the block, both ex. manifolds, ray water pump and refilled the motor/exhaust with RV antifreeze. Is there anything that I should have done to the drive?

i run a 290aq all i do is pull the prop and put some anti seize on the shaft, put the drive all the way down and leave it down and any left over water will drain out ,and spray it will wd 40, then spring chgange the fluid.

You are supposed to change the oil in case any water is in there wont sit in there or freeze over the winter.
I've been known to forget this every other year.....lol

drain the block again and get rid of the rv antifreeze..it will start to slush @ 17* then freeze @ zero *
+1 for draining the lower unit..

We used Polar RV antifreeze that states on the label that it is for RV, marine and home use and is propylene glycol based that protects to -50 degrees F. Any comments when used in a non-diluted application?

put what comes out of the through hulls or through the drive and then take a coolent refractor and check what its rated to after it went through the engine..this is the only true way to tell ..example,the putplestuff thatboat us sells rerads burst rated t -50 below..on my refractor it reads 0* below..their 100 below is only good for -50 below then if you add like 1 qt of water then it goes to 0 degrees..

If that's all you're doing to winterize it, you must live in an area that never sees temperatures below freezing. Your block, exhaust manifolds, and raw water pump are still full of water.

I believe that he is answering my question as to how to winterize the Volvo outdrive and not addressing a general engine winterize.

i live in ct and i pull all my exchaust plugs and block and impropeller plate off and let it drain out,and spray silicone over the motor, pull the to batterys and carb off and drain out the fuel, boat stays in a semi heated garage year round.
