thanks jerry. one other quick question. does the keyed ignition power (+) just go the pos on the coil than?  thanks again for the help. any thoughts on the promaster coil?

Yes,
2 purple wires to pos side of coil. 1 from ignition module, other from ignition switch itself. If you have an oil pressure switch wired to an electric choke, that also will have a purple wire going to coil. Should also have 2 grey wires to coil neg side. 1 from ign. module, other from tach. No experience with that coil. I have an MSD high vibration coil that I installed this spring. No difference from the stock Merc coil as far as I can tell. Jerry |
thanks US1 Fountain, YOU DA MAN.
