575sci Rebuild and Upgrade

I have a pair of 2001 575sci's. They have 500 hours on them and we will be pulling them in the next week or two. Who has the most experience with these. I am trying to decide on what to do. I know I want to upgrade to roller cams and intercoolers but not sure what makes the most sense. I have looked at rebuilding what I have to buying crate engine to building new long blocks. My biggest concern is finding the right builder. I am very hands on and have built performance diesel engines years ago. What I am looking for is a machinist that has excellent equipment as well as someone who knows what to do with the injection system and ecm. I plan on sending the blowers off to get freshened and stripping added. Headers to CMI to get fixed and checked. I am NOT after big power and 650 would be enough. I am after RELIABILTY. Love the boat (43 BT) and the engines as they are. Still runs 72 on GPS. Any help would be appreciated.

650 is pretty easy to squeeze out of them....you dont even
need intercoolers to do so.

DMPE for the blowers.

Here is a thread from last winters build of a pair of 575sci's.

I highly recommend EBM (Eric Betty Marine) 615-714-2944.
Eric does a great job on 575s. You can see mine below.
There's plenty left without loosing reliability.
Eddie is good too.

Steve

I like the look of your set up. What size blowers and what hp numbers if you don't mind. Great looking build. Have you ran them yet?

It's a single engine in a 28' Nordic Heat. Actually we've never dynoed the motor in it's current configuration. With the original Merc/GM iron heads and Merc/Weiand 256 plus some other mods it dynoed 713HP.
The current set up has a Blower Shop billet 871, Dart Pro1s, and modified throttle bodies. Obviously Eric has reprogrammed the ECU, and we've upgraded some fuel components too. It runs great with very little major maintenance. The only thing I've done in 3 years is have the blower restripped.
Eric's the man. I would give him a call.........
Regards,
Steve
