save your money and keep your stock exhaust..

why have you tried their system with no results on a twin application?

The best prices on Dana Exhaust kits are right from Dana Marine. The problem now is not the price but getting a quick delivery after order. They are many times on back order sometimes long lead time with demand high.

Best Regards,
Ray @ Raylar

hey sonic, i started a similar thread on this subject w exhaust on the 496 ho, i've decided to go with the dana's as well, they are very nice and install is not bad, i ordered directly from dana when i got them for my old boat, picked 200 rpm so i had to prop up and gained 2-3mph when all was done, you will not be dissappointedwith these

a friend on the west coast told me they are casted out of this country,,hint first letter begins with a ''c'' then all in house polishing and machining is done..

had a member at d net hydrauliced his engine and put a rod through his block,,he sold the boat to a friend of mine and when my friend installed a stock 330 bb then put the Dana's on the engine and he had the same problem with hydro locking his engine,,ended up sending the risers back to dana to extend the inner tubes because dana said their were some problems with the risers he had,,i give dana credit for not charging him for doing this work but he installed them and the engine hydro locked again..i borrowed him a set of glm's and the hydro locking problem went away..they are a nice looking but after what he experienced i would not run them..

You probably gained a bit just from the weight loss of getting rid of the heavy cast iron merc manifolds.

I was always under the impression the 496 mercs stock aluminium manifolds flowed pretty good compared to the older stock cast iron merc units.
