Thrust washer for Hydro prop on XR shaft

Getting through to Hydromotive has been futile - always busy.

Got a Hydro Q-IV with the solid "fat boy" (XR) hub. I was told that the Hydros do not use the same thrust washer as the Bravo1 prop. Below is a scan-in of what Hydromotive sent me with the prop.

Don at Triad Performance Marine (www.tpmarine.com) sent me a kit - the kit appears to be identical to the parts list that Hydromotive sent me............ But the kit is a product of Mercury Marine.

What's the real deal here? First, there is no washer that goes in front of the prop - just 3 washers and the nut. The first washer to go on after putting the prop on the shaft is a thick 1.5" washer.

Kook,

They both use the same washer set up. The first is a fatter one , the second is a "belleville" washer (convex in shape) and the last washer which is the one the lock nut goes against, is a flat SS washer.

Have fun,

Steve
