drive &tab pump oil

Hi all can anyone tell me the correct oil to put in the trim and tab pumps , the tab pump has kiekhaefer wrote on it and says 10/30 or 10/40 is this just motor oil ?? the drive pump oil looks thinner but it does not say on the pump wot to put in it . thanks for any help . paul

Mercury/Quicksilver power trim and steering fluid #1
or you can use a 30 weight oil that makes you happy. The Merc stuff has anti foaming agents in it and is non detergent.

X3 and any viscosity will work. Thinner oil will run the tabs/pumps faster.

Thanks guys , i did take the time to read up in my SELOC repair manual befor i posted , but it contradicts itself, in one section it says you can use 10/30 oil in a emergency , but drain as soon as poss , then in the maintenance section , it says you can use 10/30 oil and nothing about draining it out?? so i thought i would see wot you guys are putting in the pumps . Its unanimous 10/30 thanks .

We are talking auto/trans oil , the red stuff ?? , this would be good for me as i allready have plenty , would i be correct in saying its thinner and therefor run the pumps faster ,seems strange that it seems you can run almost any oil in the pumps and no damage or wear, i mean you could'nt run 10/30 in a auto/trans could you ??? i am no expert thats for sure but i do not want to wear out 4 pumps ,thats why i came on here for some advise Thanks all for the impute regards paul
