cnc dart big m block
Getting ready to start a 540 build for an old Camaro and have been kicking around the idea of getting a cnc'd Dart Big M block from some where that can machine it to my spec's, it been tuff to find a good machine shop here in Utah so that is the reason I'm thinking about a block that is already done. Has any body used a block like this if so whats the good and bad and any recommendations on good shop to get one?

Sport, call Dart. They do custom work on their stuff. You can order the block machined to what ever level you want. At reasonable prices, with quality work.

Sport,
I have personal experience with Carl Hinkson @ CNC Block NE. I would highly recommend him for quality, value, service, and unparalleled attention to detail (right down to the BB’s for the stud kits!). We have been working on a project with Haxby Speed & Marine and contracted Carl to handle all CNC process. After running the block through Darts Pro Stock shop for piston oiling the case (along with lifters, rotating/reciprocating assembly) was shipped to Carl. The block was bored and honed to spec for both P/W and Total Seal’s recommended wall finish. Lifter bores accurized, measured to bore (.904”) for both diameter and taper to actual lifters to be used. Line bore cam tunnel for 55 mm. A number of additional machining services were performed (list in attachment). The work was impeccable and tolerance was held as tight as I have seen in the industry. The components were shipped cleaned, ready for final inspection and assembly. CNC Blocks NE Carl Hinkson 1-207-892-7215 Bob |
