Gil Wedges

Anyone have or know of a source for the Gil wedges that fit between the manifold and riser to drop the tailpipes down at the transom? Thanks in advance.

Thanks!! Little on the pricey side but only 2 pipes out of 4 have issues so 1 set should do. Now which ones do I need.....

Well, if you put the tails and risers together, then fit them through the transom, you should be able to eyeball or measure them, "lying" on top of the manifold and get an idea about how much they will need. You could also make some mock wooden wedges in the sizes that are close and see what works best.

We needed our Gil TRS length tails refitted (dropped .5 -1.5"). We went to our machine shop and they drilled two holes, tapped & bolted the tails to the end of a steel table. They then slid a pipe inside the tail and and bent it. One of the 4 tails needed a final tweak to get it dead center. The process didn't take an hour and it worked perfect.

Thanks for the advice. Two of my pipes are just barely hitting the top of the transom hole (enough to cause manifold/riser exhaust leaks). I took the pipes and stuck them in the holes and have 3/8" (.375") to play with. I used some trig to calclulate the drop with the various wedge options and settled on the 3/16 x 1/8 which should drop the pipes by .16". The wedges shipped from Hardin yesterday.

I didn't have the $ to buy new exhausts after my latest upgrade so I just need to get by until I can get some better flowing exhausts.
