95-97 502 Mpi

Quick question,,, Does the 95 502 MPI and the 97 502 MPI use the same block?

maybe,,, maybe not

gen V blocks were used 92 to 97
gen VI blocks 96 and up

I think the mpi used Gen VI from 96 up. The 96,97 gen V's were carb engines

They were both v-belt motors, thats why I was thinking they were both the same.

You can check the engine serial #'s on www.mercruiserparts.com and this will tell you wether you have Gen V or VI blocks.
