I dont see the cost difference.CMI you can buy new for $2600 a set and Stainless Marine for $2400 so if not for a bling whats the difference?

Stainless marine is the best available. Period. And they're a reasonable value, too.
I wouldn't choose anything else. Mine have been absolutely trouble free and the performance is excellent.

Not going to argue about quality in salt. But as far as performance a true header, which cmi is, is the far superior. Now is all the extra work flushing and checking worth it. That's up to the customer. I lost a motor to a bad set of cmi's.

No CMI's for $2600 for a 525 efi almost double that for one set!

They are ugly, would powder coating hold up?

I had mine powder coated 4yrs ago and held up great. Mine are 12+ years old and have had no problems. A few of those years in saltwater by previous owner.

I paid $200 to have the 4 manifolds and 4 valve covers sandblasted powder coated. So $50/pair

SM makes a great worry free product IMO. Maybe they don't have the looks of a nice set of CMI's, but they do get the job done. And by the way, great people to deal with.
