Yes, I had to change the springs to match the cams.
As always, great idle, they pull to 5,000rpms no problem.
The other reason I wanted new cams, was to get a fuel pump lobe.

If I had to do it all over again, I would have saved the money for $4.00 a gallon gas.:grinser010:

OK...I'll byte. Are you saying the crate engine cam doesn't have a fuel pump lobe?
The reason I ask is my '94 boat came to me with a '96 Gen VI engine (10237300 stamp) and it has a fuel pump (NA) so I'm wondering now if it has a different cam. I've never cracked it open because it runs too good to worry about what cam is in it, but now you have me wondering.
Thanks

Most Gen 6 engines do not have the pad to mount a fuel pump. They just started putting the pads back on and putting a blocking plate over them. The cams do not come with a fuel pump lobe. Most people are running fuel injection with these late mode engines. If you purchase a new one, I would insist on making sure it has it.

1800runsnew 502

Hi Big Jim, I bought a 502 from 1800 runsnew. The engine seems weak, did you see power increase with new cam? Thinking of changing cam for more power what is your feelings? Thanks another with a
