Dereknkathy, so I need to be looking at the lower unit for Gear Ratio?

you check your gear ratio by turning balancer and count turns of engine compared to turns of prop. judging by your numbers, you have the correct 1.5 ratio. but check anyway. the SS drive is shorter top to bottom, raising the prop. i am not familiar with them, don' know if it is upper or lower they shortened.
