Stiff Latham Throttles....
Is there a way to "loosen" up Latham throttles? its not the cables they seem to be fine and glide easy as do the throttles when the cables are un hooked from the carbs. Any trip over 30 min and i have the worst arm pump ever and my hand is numb. Is there a different way to hook up the cables on the throttles (under the dash) to maybe give it a different leverage point??

Pull the throttle out. Underneath you'll see set screws. Tighten or loosen until it feels good. Don't loosen it too much because you won't be able to drive the boat without having a hand on the throttle. I've done that before, that was a long day on the water. I'd recommend setting the tension with all the cables hooked up so you know you've got good tension you're comfortable with before putting it all back together.

They must already be too loose then because when i remove my hand they fall back immediately. must be the way they are linked to the carbs. Carbs are inline with a long tie bar linking them together...ill look for pics..

Ahhh... I re-read your post. Yes, must be something causing a bind at the carb linkage.

If they fall back maybe you just need to tighten them up a little bit so they stay in one place when you take your hand off? When you push the sticks are they easy to push or hard?

they are harder than most to push but fall back easily....might look in to new cables
