Brodix are top of the line heads together with Dart and AFR. Not sure I understand what you mean by where do they rate. Quality, price?

Which heads are you looking for?

Hey razor,
Looking for quality, and it sounds like I'm the right track. I will get the part info out shortly. Thanks

Brodix are far better than the edelbrocks on larger cu in motors. The edelbrocks are good for the price and smaller motors. also gm perf heads are edelbrocks.

Glad I could be of some help.

Oh yes, you are on the right track. Some builders prefer Dart over Brodix or AFR and vice verse also depending on application. You are in good hands with Brodix. They are in a different league than Edelbrock. Depending on what you are looking for, also take a look at the AFR heads and the Dart heads.

Brodix, Dart, great heads. Check with your engine builder for oval vs. rectang ports.

Fresh water or salt?

Recommend closed cooling with salt water.

Builder is going to go with oval port heads and engine started life as 454, currently its bored .60 over he's going to take it another .10 over. Going to go full roller, scat crank, holley 850 marine carb, msds.

Also I'm going to paste some comments from builder below "my*intrest was in the uncoated components. we discussed corrosion. key is a quality electrical ground system for the motor when installed in the boat. also the fogging system is well worth the effort"

I haven't seen many discussions on elec ground system. He is also going to add some slick kind of fogging system to engine.

And finally its a fresh water envir.

Might think about a stroker if you're buying a crank.
