temp sender questions

trying to replace the OMC VDO temp sendor on the donzi 22 project. ...wanting to go from 1/2" to 3/8" sender.

just pulled out the old one that is connected to a gauge that goes from 100-220. The only sending units I can find go from 100-248 degrees F.

Ohm reading on the old one is 765 and 580 on the one I bought new. Will it work with my current vdo gauge?
