Why does the seller not tell you what brand heads they are, or some flow numbers? Sounds like some of the parts used are good but I have a feeling they're chinese heads with a hand full of good parts to make them seem like they're quality. Also I would not think a head for a 454 would be good for a 540, thats quite a range. You can get as cast AFR 265 ovals for a few bucks more and they would work great up to a 502 and I'm betting would outflow the ebay heads.

Wink Caveat Emptor !

They supposedly list and assemble them with some good decent sounding parts but I suspect the castings may be the Chinese import castings large numbers of people are pitching thru ebay, craigs list, etc. There have been and apparently continue to be problems and issues on those head castings.

Any cylinder head is only as good as its casting!

Do a Google search on the seller and verify they are a viable marine engine parts supplier with some history and reputation for supplying quality parts and standing behind their products. Anybody anywhere can create an Ebay sales entity and pitch product as though they are the greatest thing since sliced bread!

Just call the ebay seller and ask where these heads are cast and by what casting company? This will prbably flush the possible rat from the woodpile. Be careful.

Best Regards,
Ray @ Raylar
