Arizona Speed and Marine?
Called Arizona Speed and Marine wednesday about getting my ECU tuned and pretty much told the guy "Jim" That i needed to know what to do to get it done, send mine in as a core, just buy one of thiers, or send mine in to get programmed ect, So he took my info and said he would E mail me and its friday and i havent got anything yet. Are thay a good repreable shop, Ive heard thay are. I just felt like i was trying to throw money at them and didnt get much love if ya know what i mean. Mark is the way to go. For the extra secret discount remember to use the phrase:
WHY YOU MAD-DOGGIN' ME, YO ?!? Tell him I(we) all sent you. |
Is he on here? I left him a voice mail and sent in one of the work sheets from the web site.

Another very good option would be to take your boat or engine to Eddie Young in Nashville. He can tune it on the water or on the dyno and get it perfect. I don't think you are that far from him
|
Josh I know how u feel called 2 shops by the house about getting external steering put on my boat. 1st called left message nothin so i email him still nothin. 2nd shop called talked to them and they was gonna call me back and yet I still have not heard from them..

Yes, i just made the 4hr trip Thursday to get my new 540 tuned because I have reservations at Havasu in 3 weeks. I also should have done it 2 months ago. Engine now runs like a champ and we found an oil leak that needs to be fixed before installing engine. it was worth the long hard day and all the driving. Thanks Eddie.
I have also had Mark Boos tune my ECU a couple of times, If it is a common upgrade that you have done to your engine, he will have the correct tune for it. Just send it to him and he will get it back to you quickly and it will be very close if not perfect. |
If, IF! You can't get those guys to make it happen for you, Ben @ www.mefituning.com can help you out with a tune that will get you close so you can make the trip. Ben has helped me out more than once & can get you done fast.

Thanks for the recommendation Joe. Get that leak fixed :). Talk soon. Im sure Mark can fix you up as well. He's a great guy that surely knows his way around a Mefi ecm. Eddie |
How in the world can anyone tune an ECU without having the engine present?
Michael |
This is another classic display of a company/guy who thinks his buisness would rock if it wasn't for the customers. Arizona Seed and Manure has lost more dollars worth of buisness from these threads then they ever would have had they refunded unhappy customers. An unhappy customer who is made happy will be an asset, an unhappy customer who gets anally raped by a business will undoubtedly leave chit on the buisness's dick.

Although I have never done business with Ben@Mefituning, He did send me a base tune to work with when I was having trouble. I would not hesitate to business with him. He took the time for me when there was nothing in it for him. Thanks Ben

there is no magic at all. if it is a known configuration , for instance a typical 540 w/ known cr, exhaust type and cylinderhead type and nothing is bizzare in the variables then the fuel and ignition map would almost be generic to that type if the " tuner" has had the like type on the dyno before. now certainly it won't be absolutely perfect but it would be so close as to be just fine. even doing them on the dyno gets you 95 % home depending on how good the dyno set up is. the only way to get it perfect is w/ real time data aquisition in service and correlate those egts and flows with the dyno data. but if you have a 502 that you put a 540 kit in with x cylinder heads and y compression ration and z intake, then there are probably 10 guys with maps that are so close it would make no difference.

Just Shipped My ECM off to This Guy. ^ Looking forward to seeing the great results.

I'm building a 555 ci with an M3 Procharger for a 280 Powerquest right now. I had done a little smaller but very similar setup on another one in the past. That one ran in the low 90's. After putting tabs on the boat it wasn't that bad to drive. With the one I'm doing now we are looking for 100+ mph. Along with the engine it's getting full hyd. steering, trim tabs, etc. Should be fun.:lolhit:

curious to see the results,as a 32p 4blades is a lot of prop to spin in a single application...i'm up to a 27 mirage + on my set-up,with similar hp (around 600)
good luck, josh, and keep us posted |

Thats Very Impressive. What kind of numbers do you think ill be seeing. Its a pretty standard set up. Stock 502 MPI with a M-1, Roller Rockers and the ECM tune. Brett at b blades thinks we should try a 32p 4 blade, says it should turn 5000 rpm. Im hoping to break 80. O and It also has a nice set of CMIs on it too. That cant hurt,
