Re-powering

Considering repowering a baja hammer. Current setup is 7.4L with a bravo one. Would like to go with a 377 scorpion and bravo x drive. Does this new setup makes sense. What other mods would I need (hydraulic sterring etc.), and the cost of installing the package?

The 377 swap would not make me happy, go with the HP500EFI and I feel you would be pleased:D :D :D

If I could find a used one cheap I would. For that kind of money I could just pro charge a 496 and still have lots left over for gas.

You're going to spend $20k+ on a boat that is worth $25-$30k:confused:  I don't think this is a wise investment for maybe a 3-5 mph gain, if that. You'd be much better off to put that ca$h toward a bigger boat with bigger power already in it.

Griff, that is another option, move up to a 25 Outlaw with 496 Ho power. One I am considering the most.

Rebuild the 7.4 and put bigger heads on it and soup it up
Just got my 7.4's redone with all new stuff and just under 500 HP each
cost me 2200 each engine
WAY cheaper for more power
and you will never need an XR with a small block
no need
standard bravo's can handle easy 550 HP's upward to 600 then your on your own

I agree with Griff...use the money to upgrade to an another boat that is already "powered".
