so your saying every single perko switch out there is the same? saying that while there are so many different switches....

I have a spare Perko switch from the Baja that I bought a couple years ago when we were messing with the transom. It is new in the package if you want to trade some parts? Brian

So what was the decision?

perko 8501. only reason i went perko was because i have a perko on/off switch that may be getting installed also and i wanted them to match. hopefully this one holds up better than the last one.

this is what they advertised as far as switching it while engines are running. honestly i want to be able to switch them just in case i run a battery down i can start with the opposite battery and switch it back to charge the low one. next is on board charger so i can charge while at the docks and home. too bad they just told us they are not reopening our marina so i no longer have a slip with power :(

For Use With 12, 24 and 32 Volt Marine Electrical Systems Capacity - 250 AMPS Continuous, 360 AMPS Intermittent.
When used with Non-Unitized Alternators, these models will interupt the field current (reducing the possibility of damage) if turned "OFF" with the engine running.

Bumer on the marina.
Going to have to find dry storage with a plug close
or get a little Honda 2k gen and a power supply and never worry about running down while on the sand bar.

Dont use a regular battery charger with a gen while playing or it will burn up.
Need a 30-45A w/ IQ-4 power supply like Iota or Kinetik. http://www.iotaengineering.com/12vdc.htm
Also acts as a charger for long term maintance.

Might as well get the charger now and install all at once while in there.

Curious as to why you need an on/off switch in addition to the one you bought? That sucks about Bellevue. I just read that. It appears Dodge Park will be the only marina open on the Mo this year. The ramp at Manawa is already open btw.

Does anyone run a battery isolator? And why don't these switches ever fully isolate the batteries? Even with a two switch setup, one battery still effects the other. It drives me nuts, and I don't get it (which is probably why it drives me nuts).
