can these be rebuilt? or should I just look for replacement? couple of them leak right at the shaft seal, & only keep the muffler closed for a couple minutes

Im sure they can be rebuilt. I also think new ones are available thru mcmaster carr or a place like that.
Never had one apart, but i'd imagine its o-rings or seals in there??? |
If you give me the closed length of the cylinder and the overall length when the "rod" is extended, I will see if I still have some new air cylinders that will work for you.

Here is what I have. They measure 6 3/8" overall closed and they have a 1.5" stroke. I have 5 brand new ones left from when I manufactured marine mufflers and used these Bimba stainless units. They may have a smaller inlet and exhaust port than the ones you have but I have the air fittings for them. $50ea. plus freight, which in your case will probably be $5-6.
I also have several used cylinders, in near new condition, for $30ea. Gary |
Cool, I'll take a couple used ones, take PayPal?

Yes they are rebuild-able. I replaced the O-rings in them with my O-rings out of my $5 O-ring kit.
Just screw off the the ends, replace O-rings and put them together with some nice grease. |
fixx
they come in many sizes,,try here if others dont work for ya!
